Keep these common thresholds in mind when planning cash and mobile payments.
At bank counters
- USD 500 / dayRoutine cash exchange with a passport.
- USD 5,000 / dayEntry declaration or supporting proof may be required.
- USD 50,000 / yearAnnual individual quota monitored by SAFE.
Carrying cash at the border
- USD 5,000 equivalentForeign currency above this amount must be declared.
